TASTING ROOM MANAGER
Autumn Arch Beer Project is an authentic, experimental, small-batch brewery and tasting room opening in February 2019 in Newark, Delaware. The company has an opening for a full-time Tasting Room Manager. We are searching for someone responsible and trustworthy who can match our passion for craft beer and commitment to quality and customer service.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is an hourly position, with competitive pay and opportunity for overtime. You will be included in the tip pool for shifts on the Tasting Room floor. Additionally, we offer paid vacation time and a retirement plan with 3% company match.
This position will require availability 5 days per week, Wednesday-Sunday, which will be a combination of 1 Administrative Shift and 4 Tasting Room Shifts. Availability for special events, which will likely occur 5-7 times per year, is also required.
The Tasting Room Manager shall supervise all areas of the Autumn Arch Beer Project tasting room. The Manager shall tend bar and make retail sales during open hours, manage inventory, coordinate special events throughout the year, and lead the tasting room staff. Additionally, the Manager shall assist in strategic planning and budgeting for the tasting room. The ideal candidate is organized with a keen attention to detail, can effectively communicate with customers and fellow employees, possesses a personal commitment to cleanliness and efficiency, and loves craft beer.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hiring, training, and leading tasting room staff
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Autumn Arch beer styles and how they are made
Help develop and maintain the Tasting Room SOP and the Staff Training Program
Maintain a clean, friendly, and welcoming environment for customers
Execute weekly and monthly inventory tasks
Coordinate special events
Manage staff scheduling
Give brewery tours
Ability to move kegs and operate a hand cart
3 + years retail experience, front and back of house
Ability to interact professionally and effectively with staff and customers
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Previous brewery or craft beer experience
Events planning and coordination experience
Knowledge and deep interest in craft beer
Advanced computer literacy – Excel, Word, Square
